"GUN CONTROL IS NOT WHAT PEOPLE THINK IT IS" - ANGELA PARK

To me, gun control is a very touchy subject to discuss about because I actually own one. Don't freak out. It's an air pistol which I use for gunshooting because I'm in a National Gunshooting team. I believe every household should have at least one firearm. Confiscating all firearms will not decrease crime rates, rather it will increase it. 3

out of 5 polled felons have admitted that they

wouldn't "mess" with armed victims. I think it is

absolutely absurd for the several members of the

government wanting to confiscate all firearms.

Out of all the incidents at involve guns, more than

80% of those incidents, guns were used for self

defense. There is record of Kennesaw, Georgia

passing the law for every household to possess at

least one firearm. After this law passed, crime rates decreaded 89%. That is outstanding. If the government takes away all of our guns how will we defend ourselves? We can't expect police officers or security guards outside our houses, protecting us. Our safety is in our hands. The government is unreliable. The 2nd amendment protects our right to bear arms. Our Founding Fathers established this law to support our natural rights and self defense.

One definition of gun control could be doing background checks on the purchasers and owners of firearms. However, doing these background checks are very costly. Background checks include mental health checks, past criminal records, etc. There are approximately 270 million to 310 million people that possess a firearm. Checking criminal records alone costs $25 to $125 per person and mental health check costs $90 to $125 per person. You can do the math.

Personally, I would want my parents to possess a firearm. I would not want my family to be unarmed and in danger if there were to be a robbery, assault, or murder. I believe personal safety and self defense is necessary for everyone. If our government passes the law of gun control, then it is taking away our right to bear arms.

I believe that our nation is doomed if all guns are confiscated. There is so much at stake if this law is passed. Crime rates will rapidly spike. Our personal safety and self defense would be diminished. Our relationship with our government would be even worse. Overall, controlling the distribution of guns has negative effects, no positive effects. Therefore, the certain groups and members that are trying to pass this law should be stopped or persuaded that that is a bad idea that could have horrible consequences.

In summation, prohibiting gun control from happening is the most reasonable. There is every reason for citizens to have firearms. It decreases crime rates, ensures personal saftey, and many more reasons. Now the question is, what do you think? Do you want your personal safety and self defense to be taken away by the government? Do you trust the government enough to put your life in its hands?
