Gun control would be restrictive and ineffective in America  because it is a violation of our rights and opens doors for criminals. In fact

gun control leaves citizens vulnerable and helpless.

History shows us that disarming citizens does not

protect citizens at all rather it leaves them in more

dangerous situations as proven by totalitarian rule.

 

Advocates for gun control claim that citizens would

be safer if guns were taken away from them.

However what criminal abides by the law? While the

law-abiding citizens are turning in guns, criminals

will definitely not turn in guns, and through illegal methods they will procure more.Drug trade is a huge problem that can not be shut down.If guns become illegal criminals can get their hands on them just as easily as they can get drugs. Not only does that leave the citizens vulnerable, but crime will be a frequent problem that can not be contained. Are we willing to entrust our lives and our family’s lives in the government’s hands? In other words do we want to fully rely on the government to provide for us and trust they will? If your house is broken into by an armed robber and he sees you would you rather have a gun in your hand or a phone? By the time you dial, if you can, it would be too late.The police and government can not react in time to these crimes.Security companies boast 3 minute reaction times but it does not take 3 minutes to pull a trigger multiple times.

 

Crime rate is not the only threat to the citizens if gun control is passed. History repeats itself and it’s on us to learn and adapt according to it. Hitler disarmed citizens and we all know what happened. The Soviet Union disarmed their citizens and millions of citizens were rounded up and murdered in cold blood just so Stalin could exert and demonstrate his dominance.China disarmed their citizens and even though there are no exact numbers it is a fact that millions of innocent Chinese citizens have been killed. Can we turn in our guns to the government with confidence knowing these numbers?

 

Police brutality has been an issue already and if we give up our guns the problem would most likely become more severe.The government can never be allowed to have too much power or we will move towards a police state and the government’s complete dominance would be inevitable.

 

Gun control also violates our right to bear

arms. The second amendment clearly states

that all citizens have the right to bear arms

and nothing can change or tamper that right.

The right to bear arms means that the people

are entitled to carrying guns to protect what

is precious and vital to them.The reason for

this was because in the case the government

becomes corrupt the people could speak out

and act against it.With our guns gone what will stop the government from going corrupt and potentially switch from Capitalism to another ideology.

 

Gun control activists say that a person can go crazy and start firing but if everyone has a gun, the crazy shooter can be shut down immediately. This is evident in Texas. In Texas, gun control is nonexistent and due to that crime is almost nonexistent.

Not only is gun control a problem and can not be allowed gun restrictions are too strict. Inhumane ammunition being banned is justified however other bans are unnecessary and potentially bad. In California magazines, clips that are holding rounds,that can hold lots of rounds are banned and certain guns are also banned. Some other bans are logical such as bans on rocket-propelled-grenades and other highly destructive firearms but shotguns and rifles should not be banned.
